Composer and ethnomusicologist (1962-2018) with a rich academic activity; he has been teaching since the 1990s at the National University of Music in Bucharest and at the Transilvania University in Brașov. He distinguished himself through composition, composing orchestral, chamber, choral and vocal works; he also stood out for his compositions and studies of Christian musicology. For example: "Variations-Varis", composed for protopsalt and instrumental ensemble, in which the soloist's esteem is written in neumatic notation; is a piece intended for the protopsalt of the Patriarchate, Mihail Bucă, and the Archaeus ensemble (see: MUZICA Magazine, No. 6 / 2017). Imnele iernii; Cântări la Nașterea Domnului, based on the Madrasas of St. Ephrem the Syrian, is a work performed twice in the country and once in Cologne. Along with these, he distinguished himself as the author of various articles in specialized magazines and books.

Kallistos (Timothy) Ware was born in England in 1934 and studied classical languages, philosophy and theology at the University of Oxford, where he also obtained a PhD. in philosophy. He joined the Orthodox Church in 1958, and in 1966, shortly after being ordained a priest, he became a monk at the Monastery of St. John the Theologian, Patmos. From 1966 he was "Spalding Lecturer" in Eastern Orthodox Studies, at the University of Oxford, and in 1970 he became a member of Pembroke College, Oxford. In 1982 he was ordained as bishop of Diokleia, to serve as vicar of the archbishop of Thyatira.
Since his retirement in 2001, Bishop Kallistos has continued to publish and hold conferences on Orthodoxy. He was also, until recently, co-chairman of the Anglican-Orthodox Theological Dialogue Commission. On March 31, 2007, the Holy Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate elected him to the rank of metropolitan. His best-known work is The Orthodox Church, published while he was a layman, in 1963, revised several times since then. Together with G.E. Palmer and Philip Sherrard initiated the translation of the Philokalia (four of the five volumes having already been published). Among his works translated into Romanian, we mention: The Power of the Name. The Prayer of Jesus in Orthodox Spirituality (Bucharest, 1992); The History of the Orthodox Church (Bucharest, 1993); Orthodoxy, the path of the right faith (Iasi, 1993); Inner Kingdom (Bucharest, 1996); Prayer and silence in Orthodox spirituality (Bucharest, 2003).
