Abstract:
The portraits of the gifted Romanian priests from the past, which include their stories and the witness about their life, should not be ignored, but brought forward as examples for the today priests and believers. Even if the times have changed, yet the role of the priest in society, family and the Church should basically be the same, as Christ Himself is One and the Same in all ages (see Hebrews 13, 8). Of course, some manners and means have changed, but the approach have been and is Christlike or inspired from the lives of saints, who live in Christ. A brilliant example is the life of Fr. Gheorghe Palade, an authentic shepherd, good administrator, intellectual and head of a prodigious family raised successfully under the Church shade. One of the continuators of this big family, Radu Palade, by using many of the documents or archives related to his ancestors, wrote the present article in the memory of his forerunners.
