Abstract:
“The Small Lity for the Dead”, as we know it today, seems to be a “structure” of Sabait origin (Palestinian), its order being recorded, not by chance, in the Great Typikon of Saint Sabbas. Unfortunately, the specialists did not deal with this topic enough, perhaps because of the lack of clear clues, which is why the present study proposes to analyse some of the peculiarities of this ordinance. More than that, the few clues (gathered from different sources and studies), make us really think of “The Small Lity for the Dead” as being probably a liturgical structure of Palestinian (Sabait) type. The present study has succeeded in making light among numerous peculiarities related to this ordinance, which have not been debated until presently.
